Manolo Valdes
Manolo Valdés is a Spanish artist and sculptor. He is widely credited for introducing into Spain a new form of expression which combines social and political duties with humour and sarcasm. The power of his oeuvre takes inspiration from the masterpieces of the past, as Valdés makes a new use of some of the icons of Western Art, through the use of colours and compositions, from Velázquez and Zurbarán, to Matisse, Picasso and Lichtenstein.
