Carla Accardi

Carla Accardi was an acclaimed Italian figurative artist. In 1947, she greatly contributed to the development of Abstract Art in Italy. Her oeuvre is characterised by white marks over dark backgrounds. As she worked on canvases and plastic supports, Accardi set figurative art free in the third dimension through her installations.
