Piero fornasetti secretaire panoplie

Lacquered wood with gold transfer print. Manufacturer’s label inside the upper right drawer. The Panoplie decorations are a distinctive element of Fornasetti’s design language. Inspired by historical trophy compositions, the decorative motifs reinterpret these arrangements — expanded to include musical instruments, tools, and vegetal elements — in the graphically condensed style characteristic of Fornasetti, applied across the furniture surfaces. The combination and arrangement of the motifs vary from piece to piece, resulting in unique compositions for each example. Italy, circa 1955. Dimensions: 80 × 40.5 × 108.5 (h)cm.
