Robertaebasta was founded in 1967 by Roberta Tagliavini. Today, it is one of the best-known galleries in Italy and worldwide. The gallery has been increasingly acknowledged on the international scene thanks to its presence at the most-acclaimed fairs, such as Brafa and Masterpiece. Robertaebasta is an undisputed reference point for the Decorative Arts and Design of the 20th Century, where prestigious works of art and design destined to decorate interiors worldwide truly convey their historical, aesthetic and emotional meanings.

The historical gallery in the heart of Brera in Milan is where Roberta Tagliavini expresses her true essence. Works of art and unique objects intersect and overlap with forms and colours. These highly sought-after pieces are selected by the ceaseless acumen of Roberta Tagliavini. All these objects elicit great emotions in Roberta, as she does not wonder whether other people could like these pieces, but she unleashes her imagination and creativity into the art of living. She is capable of seeing the beauty, the history and the uniqueness behind every single work of art and design.
A genuine passion
Since 1994, Mattia Martinelli has been managing Robertaebasta thanks to his expertise on art and furnishing. He is also the Chair of the ‘Via Fiori Chiari Trade Association’, an expert consultant in Decorative Arts of the 20th Century at the Milan Tribunal and son of Roberta Tagliavini. Moreover, he is a member of the executive board of the ‘Brera Antique Dealers Association’ and presenter for several TV programmes, such as Magazine 7 on LA7. Dynamic and passionate, in just a few years, Mattia established new galleries in the most beautiful streets of Brera and in London. As the power of art in communicating emotions is unstoppable, so is Mattia’s determination. He firmly believes that investing on art and design means making an investment on a piece of history and that the value of the piece is subject to increase in the long term.

Outstanding objects by the most important international artists and designers and made of exclusive and unique materials, especially French Art Deco furniture and iconic pieces of Italian design from the 20th Century. Every work is carefully appraised, evaluated, selected or restored. What is deemed vintage turns into art and design becomes a means to open one’s own heart. Every object, piece of furnishing or accessory is of historical importance and can express the meaningful connection with a place and those living within it.
Robertaebasta was awarded the golden medal in the ‘Milano produttiva’ competition and the prize by the Milan’s Antique Dealers Association thanks to its uniqueness. Robertaebasta is pleased to take part in several national and international art fairs.
