Victor Vasarely

Victor Vasarely

Victor Vasarely was a Hungarian-French artist. He is widely credited as the founder, or grandfather, of the Op Art, an artistic movement that developed between the 1960s and 1970s. Op Art is a type of abstract art closely linked to the Kinetic and Constructivist Art movements.
Willing to develop a universal language that would bring together physics, architecture and the industrial process, Victor Vasarely established his own foundation in 1976 and fulfilled his vision of the role of the art in the urban context by devising a project for a whole building.
